What Is Included

Vaccinations (DHP, L4 & Kennel Cough)

Vaccinating your puppy is vital to protect against a number of life-threatening diseases. The primary vaccination course involves 3 vaccinations. This course covers your puppy against distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus and leptospirosis. After your puppy’s initial injections at their first appointment (DHP & L4), one will be required weeks later (The 2nd DHP) and one 4 weeks after the initial (The 2nd L4). We also provide a kennel cough vaccination with the package which can be given with the initial course.

After their second injection your puppy can go out a week later, but it is advised they avoid lakes, canals and farms until the course is completed.

Booster vaccinations are required annually after the initial course.

Flea treatment (1st dose)

Fleas are a very common parasite and can be present all year round. These can cause skin problems and can also transmit tapeworms to your pet. 95% of fleas are present in your environment (bedding, carpets, furnishings etc) while only 5% will be on your dog at any one time.

The products we provide for your pets also help reduce fleas in the environment by interfering with their lifecycle. If you have fleas in the house, there are environmental sprays that can be used. If you are concerned please ask a member of staff.

Worming treatment (1st dose)

Worming is very important in puppies and some worms can already be present in a puppys intestines. Roundworms can pass from mother to puppy during pregnancy and through milk, they can also be picked up in the environment. Tapeworms are transmitted via fleas and through scavenging wildlife. If your puppy has fleas they will almost certainly have worms, which is why it is important to keep up with your puppy’s flea and worming treatments.

We advise worming every month until 6 months of age, at which point worming is usually done every 3 months.

Lungworm (Angiostrongylus vasorum) is a parasite that can cause serious health problems in dogs and can even be fatal if not treated. Younger dogs seem to be more prone at picking up the parasite and dogs who are known to eat slugs and snails are considered at higher risk. A spot on flea treatment provides protection against this worm.

It is important to have an accurate weight for your puppy's worming treatment to make sure they get an accurate dose. We would recommend bringing your puppy in monthly for weighing, you can pop in and do this at any time or make a free appointment with one of our nurses where they can administer the treatment for you at the same time.

5 weeks FREE insurance

We provide 5 weeks free insurance with which will be activated at your first appointment. On average one in three pets require unexpected veterinary treatment each year, so it’s important to make sure you have adequate and appropriate cover in place. Please speak to reception if you have any questions regarding your free insurance.
